Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood is located on the western shore of Lake Washington. Laurelhurst is known for it’s vibrant community and is close to the University of Washington with easy access to downtown. It is also the home of the Seattle Children's Hospital which moved to the neighborhood in 1953. The streets wind up and down through the neighborhood and it is easy to get lost for a first-timer. Views abound in Laurelhurst, from Lake Washington, the Cascades and the Olympics, Mt. Rainier and even the Space Needle. It is a beautiful oasis and hard to believe you are so close to the City. Go bird watching in the Center for Urban Horticulture, watch the early morning crew teams glide through the water, relax and play at the Beach Club or take a class at the Laurelhurst Community Center. There really is something for everyone to do in Laurelhurst.
